The Carle Arbours is a 240-bed private continuing care center in Champaign County and is licensed by the State of Illinois as a skilled care facility. The Arbours offers respite care, hospice, and long-term care. Both Carle and non-Carle patients are welcome, and any physician with a license to practice in Illinois can admit patients and residents to the Arbours.

Services in physical, occupational and speech therapy are provided on an in- and out-patient basis. The major goal of the Arbours rehabilitation program is to restore people to their fullest potential as quickly as possible. We do this by treating each person's specific physical needs with customized programs of physical, occupational and speech therapies.

We take great care to help people develop an appropriate mental outlook and level of motivation to speed their recovery.

1. Physical Therapy: Physical therapists help people work toward regaining optimal movement, function and pain relief. Our physical therapy staff creates an individual plan to help people develop endurance, acquire strength, improve coordination for walking, and expand movement potential.
2. Occupational Therapy: The Arbours occupational therapists create personalized, therapeutic programs to help people better manage their daily activities. Programs may include relearning how to bathe, dress, eat, groom, prepare meals, etc.
3. Speech Therapy: Sometimes an accident or an illness causes complications, such as hearing loss, that will affect the ability to speak, or cause difficulty swallowing. Our speech therapists diagnose and treat such conditions, helping a person to regain as much speaking and swallowing ability as possible.

he Carle Arbour's skilled team of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants is on duty 24 hours a day to meet our residents' specific needs.

Using restorative and rehabilitative nursing approaches, our goal is to help residents be as independent as possible and live as comfortably as possible in the Arbour's environment.

Whether a resident's stay is short or long-term, they can expect care and respect from nursing professionals dedicated to his or her comfort and well-being, and dedicated to making the Arbours feel like a home away from home.
