"Here, friends, family, and neighbors can come to visit anytime."

Heritage Manor - El Paso opened as McDaniel Nursing Home in 1966. The current facility, constructed in 1973, was purchased by Heritage Enterprises in 1987. Renovations and an addition were completed in 1992, adding 11 beds, for a total of 60 at our facility. In 1996, Crossroads Medical Clinic was built. The clinic, which neighbors Heritage, provides physical, occupational, and speech therapies to residents.

"Being a caregiver is a whole different relationship," says administrator Diane Greene. "Here, friends, family, and neighbors can come to visit anytime. They're actually gaining their independence. They're not asking their son or daughter to do for them, so they are able to keep their relationship as mother/daughter or father/son."

Residents at our facility continue growing relationships with the community. Many participate in volunteer activities, such as: raising funds for schools, preparing food for community events and friends experiencing illness or tragedy, working with a local day care center, and hosting a haunted house. Likewise, our residents build relationships with each other through activities offered at the facility, such as: manicures, birthday parties, Miniature Golf, Bingo, and music.

Our facility offers a number of specialized services, including therapy and an Alzheimer's special care unit. Heritage Manor El Paso is a member of the Illinois Health Care Association, the American Health Care Association, and the El Paso Chamber of Commerce. In addition, staff and residents lend their time and services to the American Heart Association, Alzheimer's Association, American Cancer Association, El Paso School District, and local church groups.
