The Meadow Manor team works hard to make sure that our facility is a warm and welcoming place.

From our beautifully landscaped courtyard, to our programs, to our live-in pets, we’ve carefully planned the Meadow Manor experience to be as close to home as you can find.

You’ll find us in Taylorville, Illinois, just 30 miles south of Springfield.

We are licensed for 96 beds and are Medicare and Medicaid approved.

Our residents represent a cross-section of life in the Midwest - we have retired professionals, laborers, and homemakers living in our facility.

Our employees live locally and are committed to our residents and to creating a place where they will be comfortable.

Nursing Care

Restorative nursing measures are practiced seven days per week and are aimed at making every effort to keep our residents active. We encourage our residents to achieve independence in the activities of daily living.

When necessary, residents may choose to see their regular dentist, optometrist, and podiatrist. However, Meadow Manor has a dentist, optometrist, and podiatrist who come to our facility to regularly see our patients.

Rehabilitation

Physical, occupational, and speech rehabilitation is available to assist residents in regaining and restoring abilities.

Physical rehabilitation includes treatment for injuries from falls and illnesses that respond to rehabilitation. Physical therapy works to assist patients regaining strength and balance to allow them to walk or ambulate as independently as possible. Physical therapy is also useful for pain management.

Occupational rehabilitation focuses on improving residents’ abilities to manage daily living skills. Programs are developed individually to maximize residents’ abilities to relearn basic living skills such as eating, dressing, bathing, and toileting.

Speech rehabilitation assists residents in overcoming problems with speech, hearing, comprehension, and swallowing. Special communication systems are often developed to ensure the resident can make his or her needs known.

Quick Steps

Quick Steps is a new program at Meadow Manor geared towards those patients who need short-term rehabilitation.

Our Quick Steps patients are generally people who have had surgery and are staying with us for a few weeks to a few months in order to receive rehabilitation. Once rehabilitation is complete, our Quick Steps patients return to their homes safely.

Quick Steps patients may pre-register for their stay with us before their surgery.

Resident Services

Admission to a health care facility creates a period of adjustment and change for both family and resident.

Our social service staff are here to assist the resident with any needs that may arise from the time of admission, during the period of adjustment, and thereafter.

The social service staff’s main goal is to enhance the quality of life residents experience during their stay with us.
Activities

Activity is the key to personal contentment. Our regular program of planned activities is an essential part of our total care.

Under the direction of our activity director, residents are given the opportunity to enjoy a full calendar of fun recreational and social activities:

Movies and popcorn
Bingo
Church services
Recipe clubs
Coffee & chat
Daily exercise
Current events

We typically offer at least two structured activities in the morning and two in the afternoon on Mondays through Fridays, and one in the morning and one in the afternoon on weekends. Shopping trips and dining out are offered frequently.

Our on-site beauty salon can always be enjoyed by our residents. Getting pampered and primped is fun for all.

Our activity director is trained to understand and encourage activities designed with special needs in mind. Our residents’ families are strongly encouraged to participate in daily programs and special events. Suggestions and new ideas are always welcomed.

Dining

Just like home, we offer family-style dining for our residents, with lots of choice and plenty of interaction with friends and staff.

We have a dietician on staff and are able to accommodate special needs.

Meadow Manor also provides the meals for our local Meals on Wheels program, ensuring that the elderly and home-bound in our Taylorville community receive warm meals from friendly faces.
