The Galena-Stauss Nursing Care Center is home to 57 residents who want and need around-the-clock care by Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants in a warm, compassionate setting. Our nursing home team will work with residents and their families to coordinate transportation to Midwest Medical Center and Midwest Health Clinic which are located just a few miles west of our facility.

Our Activities Department plans a daily schedule of varied and interesting activities and events to keep our residents involved and enjoying themselves. These include community events and outings, cards, crafts, holiday and birthday celebrations, board games, pet therapy, courtyard walks, musical and spiritual programs. Our Beauty Shop is also located on the premise and staffed by a dedicated group of volunteers.

Physical exercise is important at every age and stage in life. Our residents enjoy movement and exercises designed to invigorate, strengthen and relax. Galena-Stauss Nursing Home has a wonderful Restorative Program designed to promote and enhance the resident’s ability to function at their highest level.

Our Interdisciplinary team is composed of the Director of Nurses, Licensed Nurses and Aides, and representatives from our Social Services Department, Nutritional Services Department and Activities Department. Care Reviews are an important way to chart a resident’s progress and attend to the changes they may need in order to reach their goals. Directed by our Interdisciplinary team, residents and their family members are encouraged to attend Care Reviews at the time of admission, quarterly and with any change in condition.
