Our Mission
The mission of St. John’s Home & Community Care is to make a positive difference in the lives of people challenged by aging or disabilities.
We accomplish this by providing dependable and compassionate support through direct care, advocacy, education, and outreach to individuals living in the Metro-East community.
We live the vision of Christ and His love for all people through our actions and words.
St. John's Home & Community Care is:
A not-for-profit United Way agency dedicated to assisting elderly, ill, and disabled individuals maintain their independence.
An outreach ministry of St. John Evangelical United Church of Christ, established in 1985.
Governed by St. John's Healing Community Board.
St. John's Home & Community Care offers:
In-Home Caregivers Program (personal care, housework, shopping, etc.)
St. John’s Adult Day Program for those with dementia or physical challenges.
Alzheimer's Association Support Group (2nd Tuesday of month. See calendar.)
Mood Disorder Support (See calendar..)
Loans of Medical equipment (See Other Services.)
AARP's 55 Alive Mature Driving courses (See calendar..)
Help finding other resources (See Other Services.)
St. John's In-Home Care offers:
Homemaker services, laundry, meals, shopping, transportation, medication reminders.
Non-medical personal care (bathing,
toileting, etc.).
Companionship and supervision of
confused or forgetful individuals.
Respite care for family caregivers.
Care 24 hours per day, 365 days a year.
Flexible schedules.
St. John's In-Home Care is used by:
Individuals who need help with housekeeping, cooking, or personal care.
Individuals recovering from surgery or illness.
Families unable to provide all the care needed for a loved one.
Individuals needing extra attention during a hospital or nursing home
stay.
St. John's Caregivers are:
Reliable individuals who care about each client's physical and emotional
needs.
Individuals who have been carefully screened before employment.
Trained and supervised by experienced Care Coordinators.
Covered by worker compensation, liability insurance, and bonding to
protect both caregiver and client.
St. John’s Adult Day Program offers:
Day Care Program client with puppy. Opportunities to socialize in a safe, supportive setting.
A range of activities designed with a sense of fun and success in mind.
Personalized attention by caring, committed, trained staff and volunteers.
Nutritional lunch and snacks.
Professional nursing oversight.
Transportation arrangements through Collinsville Senior Shuttle and Madison County Transit.
Peace of mind for you, the caregiver, for a time away from the demands of care giving.
